Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. (John 8:31-36 NKJV)
You’ve studied over and over again, your bound and determined to pass the test! You got this! The day of the test arrives, your sweating it, but you struggle through and make it to the end! You have to ask yourself “Did I get all the questions right? Were there any that I missed? And then you are graded, you receive your test scores, good news, you’ve passed! The burden has been lifted! You’re going to graduate!
There’s nothing better than the feeling of a burden being lifted from your shoulders! The feeling of relief that you’ve passed the test!
Now imagine Jesus Christ taking the burden of all your sins. Better yet, try imagining Jesus taking the weight of the whole world’s sins! The pain He took was so brutal that it brought Him to death! But you know what? He suffered so you could be released from that bondage! The weight was lifted off your shoulders and on to His!
Jesus says, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus Christ died for your sins according to the Scriptures; He was buried and He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. Jesus Christ now lives, to be the mediator between you and God! And now that you know the truth, shouldn’t you abide in God’s word and live free from the bondages of sin and live for Him? And in the end when you stand before our great King You can hear Him say “Well done, good and faithful servant, you’ve passed the test!
I come before you today to thank you for the sacrifice of Your Son; I thank You for providing a way to Your throne of grace. I am a sinner, My soul is lost without You. I ask you for the forgiveness that only You can provide and I choose to abide in Your Son to be set free from the bondages of sin, with the strength of The Holy Spirit. Father, It is Your will I seek not mine!
In Jesus name I pray, amen!
