Romans 13:12-14 Tells us, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
We “put on the Lord Jesus Christ”? Hmm what does that mean? Well, let’s turn to Philippians 2:5-8 to find out…
Paul writes to the Philippians, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
So simply put… since “The night is far spent, and the day is at hand” we should have no reputation. (such as being fluffed up or proud) We shall be humble and obedient as a servant, even to the point of death! I say, until the day of death from this world, unto life into Heaven with Christ our Lord and Savior! We walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. We follow in the steps of Jesus! For He is our example to follow, not the world! We follow God’s word and His way and we have victory over this god forsaken world!
We ask God, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV)
