Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. (Romans 15:5-7 NKJV)
Most Christians have a tendency to be a little more critical of others then they need to be but I feel it’s only because we actually do care. Before coming to Christ I can attest that I was definitely more concerned about myself than anyone else! It was all about “número uno, me, myself and I!” But now that I know the truth, the truth has set me free! God has filled me with His Holy Spirit and as a true follower of Christ I have decreased, and Jesus has increased! I have become more Christ Like! And it does matter that everyone comes to His saving knowledge! It does matter that everyone gets the opportunity to feel His love! And it does matter that everyone has the opportunity to have endless joy in their lives! But we need to be careful! We mustn’t judge, that is the Lords job not ours! One must work out His own salvation; it is between them and God! (Philippians 2:12-13) As Christians we are given the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV) We must use these gifts that God has given us to build up and edify, not tear down and destroy! Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6:31 NIV) Therefore have patience with one another as God has patience with you, comfort one another as God has comforted you, and receive one another, just as Christ also received you, to the glory of God. (Romans 15:5-7 NKJV)
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. (II Thessalonians 3:5 NKJV)
Thank you for filling those who have taken the steps to be a child of yours with the fruits of love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We put them to use no matter how hard it may be! We too were once of darkness; we too have been in the shoes of others; we too have been on the receiving end of harsh words and darkness! Father, we thank you for your patience with us, we thank you for the comfort you give us in knowing that we have eternal life! We ask for your strength to stand tall and shine your light to glorify you in all things! We thank you for your promises, your blessings, and all that you do for us! In Jesus’ name we pray amen!
