Do You Have Genuine Faith?

And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Matthew 8:2, 3 NKJV)

This man that Jesus healed would have most likely been shunned from his community and would have been considered unclean and highly contagious. He wouldn’t have been allowed to go near anyone! He would become an outcast! It’s even possible that He might have been made to wear a bell around his neck, which he would have to ring to let people know he was near. And most people would have definitely stayed away from him! They certainly would have never touched him! But Jesus, He touched him! Jesus had compassion for the man. Jesus saw him for who he really was. Jesus looked beyond His outside appearance and saw Him from the inside, Jesus saw his heart! Jesus saw that the man had genuine faith! This man trusted in Jesus and believed He was the Messiah, and knew he could be healed by Jesus, so He worshiped Him and asked to be cleansed, and he was cleansed!

Do you have genuine faith? Because if you do, Jesus is willing! You may not be cured of an incurable disease like this leper was, but He will get you through what’s troubling you! No matter how big, or how small your problems are The Lord will be there by your side! But you need to be in a right relationship with Him! If you are living a life of sin and claim to be a Christian you need to repent! You need to ask God for forgiveness! Ask to be cleansed, and you will be cleansed! Get right with God and start following Jesus in all His ways! Be holy as He is holy! The bible tells us, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV) Remember Jesus looks at the heart, He sees you on the inside! You need to be willing, as Jesus is willing! And you need to have genuine faith! Do you have genuine faith?

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all that you do, thank you for judging the heart! Thank you for being there for those who have genuine faith! We are willing! We walk with Jesus! We choose to be holy for He is holy! We trust in your will not ours! In Jesus’ name we pray, amen!
