The Oxford dictionary defines worry as giving way to anxiety or unease; allowing one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.
In this life there will always be something that will bring us worry and how we deal with it is how we get through it! There is no reason to dwell on what brings us worry it only make things worse! It’s like a whistling tea pot on a hot stove; the whistle will keep on blowing until you remove it from the heat! Remove the worry from your mind by giving it away to The Lord! Don’t let worry bring you anxiety or uneasiness! Proverbs 12:25 tells us, Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. Look to God’s word, look to His promises! Have faith and Jesus will get you through it!
When Jesus and His disciples were crossing over the Sea of Galilee (Mark 4:35-41) “a great wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.” What did the disciples do? They began to worry! They began to panic! They caused themselves to be filled with a whole lot of anxiety! “And they awoke Jesus and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then Jesus arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Jesus does care for us! He loves us and will not let any harm come to us that we can’t handle! But you must have faith! You must trust Jesus and allow Him to get you through it! Don’t be like the disciples! Jesus was right there in the boat but they still let worry get the best of them! When we are up against the storms of life we need to keep Jesus by our side, have faith, and give your worry to The Lord and just like His disciples He will get you through it!
We must pray! We must keep in touch with God the Father! Even Jesus felt deep anxiety before his greatest trial! In Matthew 26:37-39 we can read that, “He [Jesus] took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
Pray to our Father in heaven, reach out to God and ask him, if it is possible, take what’s causing your worry away! Ask Him to rid you or help you get through what’s causing your difficulty or troubles! “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
Remember God is in control! Everything happens for a reason, His reason! He will protect you, He will direct you! If you’re going through a storm in life He put you there for a reason! Expect to learn something from the situation, look to the bigger picture! There may be a reason that you don’t quite see! Expect the unexpected! And remember these words… “Don’t let worry get the best of you! Stand tall and let Jesus be your all!”
You are indeed in control and without you we are nothing! Without you we are lost to a whole lot of worry that we will never overcome unless we have faith and put our trust in you! Thank you father for giving those who do trust, a way to overcome! We will not be afraid, we will not keep silent, and we will give all our cares to you! Thank you father for being there, thank you for protecting us during the storms of life! Thank you for your promises, thank you for giving us eternal life! It is your will we seek not ours! In Jesus’ name we pray amen!
