I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:10-14 (NIV)
Paul wants to know Christ and make him known! He knows there is a lot at stake to do this. To be of like mind, willing to suffer as Christ did, to be humble, to be as Christian as he can be! He puts his past behind, while straining toward what is ahead to win the prize for which god has called him! In our walk to know the Lord and to make him known, we all must be like Paul and stay focused; be of like minds; be willing to put our sins behind us; live like brothers and sisters; be humble as Jesus Christ was and press ahead to the one goal we all strive for… To live forever in Heaven with The Lord Christ Jesus!
thank you for all that you have done for us. We ask that you fill us with the Holy Spirit and guide us through our lives as we walk with the Lord Jesus. Help us to forget the things behind us. Give us the strength to press ahead, and live our lives the way you intended us to live so we can reach our goals in this life and the next! In the name, Amen
