The following is information that was learned while reading 1 Thessalonians during Wednesday night Bible study with Pastor David Crespo, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship.
We learn from the Bible that our faith Is dependent upon Christ for deliverance.
1. Deliverance Past: God…
- Delivered us from our sinful nature, by faith, we were given salvation of God.
2. Deliverance Presence: Our responsibility (with help from God)
- Testing of our faith
- Expressing our faith in God
- Sharing our faith with others
We must put into practice what we learn by reading the Bible, walking with the Lord, and Praying every day.
The Bible tells us…
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:16, 17 NKJV)
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV)
therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith. For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 3:7, 8 NKJV)
But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:8 NKJV)
3. Deliverance Future: God
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NKJV)
