As in water face reflects face, So a man’s heart reveals the man. (Proverbs 27:19 NKJV)
I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV) God knows our hearts and He knows our ways. What are your ways? What does the reflection of your heart reveal? Does it reveal who you truly are? Or does it reveal something different? From out of the heart flows our true colors and what comes out will define our true character, our attitude and our love towards others.
So what do we do if our hearts are not right? We ask God to cleanse us! “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalms 51:10 NKJV) We ask God to help us focus our hearts and minds on what is good and pleasing in His sight, not ours! We cry out, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalms 139:23, 24 NKJV)
Let us eliminate all the junk and listen to Paul the Apostle! “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 NKJV)
We ask The Lord the following question…
Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Psalms 24:3-5 NKJV)
Purify your heart and receive blessings from The Lord!
