The Perfect Church

Charles H Spurgeon once said, ”The day we find the perfect church, it becomes imperfect the moment we join it.”

Let me repeat that… “The day we find the perfect church, it becomes imperfect the moment we join it.” Well said! No one is perfect accept God and those who go to church wouldn’t need to go to church if they were perfect! “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 (NKJV) So if you’re looking for the perfect church stop right there! There is no perfect church! You won’t find it! But… you can find the next best thing! A church that is biblical! Now grab a piece of paper and let’s take some notes!

5 things needed in a perfect church

Sinners – without sinners the preacher is just banging his chest and preaching to the air. If you’re looking for a church where there are no sinners you won’t find it! “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

A Preacher – A biblical church needs a Preacher that teaches and preaches from the Bible whose not puffed up, who speaks the truth, is filled with the Holy Spirit and serves with a pure conscience, he’s a good example to all!

The Bible – not only in the hands of the preacher, but in the hands of the people in attendance! You must open your Bible! Without the Bible, one does not know the preacher speaks the truth! God’s word tells us, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

Worship – One of the main reasons we go to church is to worship Jesus! And without Jesus being worshipped we are just sinners being led down a path that only leads to the fiery depths of hell! We must worship Jesus! We do this with song, we do this with biblical teachings, we do this with our mouths! We worship Our Lord and King! We’re not there for a feel good message! We’re there to hear the truth! God’s truth!

Fellowship – The church is not the building, the church is the people attending! We must fellowship, we must love and serve one another! We must do Life together! We support each other, we exhort each other, we encourage each other, we edify each other, we love each other and we even rebuke each other! Especially those who are in error!

So now that you know what you need in a perfect church, put all your thoughts and feelings aside and look for these things! Because all you need is a biblical church to be the perfect church for you, and the rest will follow! Amen?
