Living in this world can certainly be tough! And most of us would probably agree it would be real easy to throw in the towel and just call it quits. But the truth of the matter is this… The world we live in is tough! And some days it can even be brutal! But you know what? It’s only temporary! And besides that, life is way too short to fret over the small stuff! Especially the stuff we have no control over!
Jesus tells us “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV)
“In the world you will have tribulation“ simple as that! And we deal with it knowing that Jesus suffered way more than we will ever suffer, and He overcame the world!
Paul tells us, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18 NKJV
James also chimes in, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” (James 1:2-4 NKJV)
Romans 5:6-8 tells us, “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Just like Jesus, we too will overcome the world but in order for that to happen we have to trust Jesus and follow His will and His way by following His word and doing what it says!
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJV)
Let’s live for Christ! Let’s not fret over the small stuff! There will be seasons of ups and downs! We acknowledge this! We tread lightly! We fight the good fight! And one day sooner than we think, we will be complete in Christ and we will hear those wonderful words spoken by Jesus, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ (Matthew 25:23)
