The Truth of The Matter Is This…

Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. (Acts 13:46 NKJV)

Paul and Barnabas were directing their boldness to those whom rejected God’s word, for they opposed the things that were spoken, they rejected that Jesus was the only way to their salvation, their only way to God! They knew the scriptures and they knew what the early prophets foretold, but they refused to believe! They refused to believe that Jesus was indeed the Messiah! And by refusing, they were judging themselves unworthy of everlasting life!

We’ve all been introduced to the Gospel of Christ at some point in our lives, and we’ve all made a decision to either accept or reject it’s power. If we accepted it, we did well! We secured our future! If we rejected it we judged ourselves unworthy of everlasting life and we chose to live life knowing that it really doesn’t matter how we live! And when we die we can be rest assured we will go to hell, because the only way to Heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ!

The truth of the matter is this… its not really about accepting or rejecting, its about giving up our lives to do what’s right. If we choose Jesus we choose a life that’s true and pleasing to God! We put others above ourselves, we love our neighbor and we get rid of all the meaningless junk in our lives! The profanity, the idolatry, the sexual immorality, the lying, the cheating, the stealing! We get our finaces in order, we pay taxes where taxes are due! We speak the truth and nothing but the truth! We work as we are working for The Lord and not ourselves, we live for God! We live life with our integrity intact knowing we did what was right! We leave a good impression behind! And after our life here on earth and all is said and done, we live on for eternity in Heaven where there will be no more pain, no more suffering, and no more death! We will rejoice because we will be in harmony with God!

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sacrificing Your one and only Son so that all who believe may have everlasting life! You extend your grace to the undeserving sinner and provide a direct connection to Heaven, amen to that! Father, I pray for all those who refuse to believe; all those who refuse to have faith, all those who refuse to come to their senses and realize that without You and Your Son in their lives they are nothing! They remain travelers lost without a map going nowhere but down! May their hearts be softened, may they learn to put their trust in Jesus! The one and only compass that will guide them home to your loving arms! Father, I also pray for those who are struggling with their faith, I ask that you fill them from head to toe with Your Holy Spirit, lift their inner soul up! Give them peace within, let them know you are near, and by their side! Lord God, I want nothing more than Your will here on earth as it is in Heaven! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen
