Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (John 11:1-4 NKJV)
There will be times in our lives that God will use our own sorrows and hard times as a way to glorify the things of His Kingdom. To bring us to a point where we realize that we need Him in our lives. He will bring certain people into our situations to minister to our needs so that we may see His Son Jesus at work. For instance the sickness that brings a loved one close to death. I’m not saying that He brings the sickness, “because we do live in a fallen world and many times we are the cause of that sickness”. God might just be the one to help prolong that sickness to bring us to the seriousness of life and death, and give us the time to make things right with Him. He will bring people into our lives that may direct us to Him. May be a co worker or a family member that’s a Christian or a Pastor at the hospital.
God loves you and wants you to come to repentance and the saving knowledge of His Son. He wants you to experience life as He intended it. A life with Jesus guiding and directing your paths to His glorious kingdom, where there will be no more pain and sorrow.
So when times are tough we need to look at the bigger picture, we need to step back and see why things are happening instead of blaming God for our own faults! God gave us free will and many of us use that free will to do whatever we want! We can’t blame God for our own stupidity!
I thank you for allowing your Son to die on the cross. I thank you for raising Him from the dead so He could be the door to you. The guide for the living! He brings us life, everlasting life to all those who accept and realize that they need You! Father I pray for all those who are hurting, all those who are struggling, all those who may not know You, and all those who do know You that they may see Jesus, and would feel Your presence in their lives! To You the Glory! And it is in Your name I jump for joy because You give those who are sometimes very stupid the chance to change things around for Your greater good and for a chance to live a better life! Father It’s Your will that I want not mine! Amen
