What Is Truth?

What Is Truth?

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”— John 14:6 NKJV

Truth, what is truth? A search of an online dictionary comes up with one of the following definitions, “that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality.” So what is truth? Truth is facts that can be seen, facts that can be read, facts that can be proven. Truth is what you see before you. The reality of what stands right in front of your eyes! Truth!

The Lord Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, God Incarnate is one with The Father and The Holy Spirit and one part of the Triune God. For He is God and He is I Am!

Jesus Christ came to this earth to spread a message of truth and the facts to this truth come from God Himself, The Creator of Heaven and earth! And through His Holy Word written by multiple people who were inspired by God proves this truth! God’s Word reveals the facts that are needed to prove the truth! Not only that, but His Word of truth has been proven to be true in multiple ways, by many people! So we have to ask ourselves, why is there so many people in the world that don’t believe in the truth?

We turn to God’s Holy Word for the answer! We turn to the book of Romans, chapter one, verse eighteen through twenty for some incite…

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,”— Romans 1:18-20 NKJV

So, the fact of the matter is this! Everyone knows the truth, but there are many who choose to suppress the truth! And the truth is we have all been given free will and what we do with that free will is up to us! We have the right to make our own decisions but we need to make the right ones! Either way there is no excuse to claim you don’t know the truth!

God’s word tells us those who suppress the truth and do not retain God in their knowledge are given over to debased minds…

Romans one, twenty-eight through thirty-two tells us, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”— Romans 1:28-32 NKJV

If you look to the news and to the world this is exactly what we see! And what does God’s word have to say about these who practice such things? “they are deserving of death!” Seems pretty harsh! But that’s the truth! God’s truth!

So the question I ask to those who are reading this, are you a believer of truth? Do you believe in the one true God? Do you put your faith in Jesus Christ?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”— John 3:16 NKJV

Do you believe? Do you believe “that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”— I Corinthians 15:3-4 NKJV

Jesus Christ died for you and He knocks on the door of your heart! Will you invite him in? “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me”— Revelation 3:20 NKJV

If you believe in the Gospel and abide in the truth [Gods word] you will have the promise of eternal life, You will go to Heaven!

“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. [The Gospel of Jesus Christ: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures] If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life”— John 2:24-25

Will you follow the truth? Will you stand in the truth? Will you do what’s right? I implore you, do the right thing! It’s your move! Now move!

Lord God, Lord Jesus,

Your word is truth, and I believe in that truth! Without Your Son our destination is a one way trip to the lake of fire! We don’t want that destination! We want a happy ending to our story where we live for eternity in Heaven worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! A life in Heaven where we find ourselves walking down streets made of gold and living in mansions that you have reserved for those who believe in the truth! Your truth! Heavenly Father we want Your will for our lives not our will! Make it so! Make it so!
