Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. Psalms 25:4, 5 (NKJV)
When I worked as an automotive technician I would always just jump right in and get my hands dirty. I loved taking engines out and tearing them down. There was no greater satisfaction than to seeing all those parts lying all over the place, and then later seeing it all back together again and knowing, “I did that!” But every once in a while I would end up with an extra part lying on the bench and I would have to consult the manual to figure out where it went.
When it comes to God, and figuring out what His will for our life is we don’t want to mess things up. We don’t want to take any chances and leave anything out. We must pick up His manual first! Don’t try to figure it out on your own! Ask God to show you His will, ask for His instruction by picking up a Bible. Read it, read it again, meditate on it, learn from it, read it again, put it into practice! Follow His ways, apply His words, Do what His words say! This way you won’t leave anything out, and you will get the satisfaction that only God can provide!
We thank you for all that you do. We thank you for giving us your manual for life. We ask that you teach us, show us your ways, help us grow; help us to get the bigger picture. Father make your directions known to us. Not our will but your will! In Jesus’ name we pray, amen
